The Impala came from the factory with a 283 and 4 barrel carb.
The engine and tranny were gone when we got her.
Since it is a big car we thought a bigger engine was in order so;
We found a Small Block Chevy 400 and Turbo 350 from a 73 El Camino

Hypereutectic Flattop Speed Pro Pistons
Crane Energizer Cam
Eagle Steel Crank
5.7 Rods Clearanced with ARP Rod Bolts
Balanced
